The Reception at Hillingdon Guest House and the sunny guest coffee lounge that leads out to the sun terrace
Access Statement
We aim to cater for most of the needs of all who visit Hillingdon Guest House, although wheelchair access is not a possibility due to the amount of stops on our approach and the interior stairs. We are a three-storey house with 8 guest bedrooms, 6 on the middle floor and 2 on the top floor. All the doors in the house are of standard widths. The following statement is a summary of our provision.
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
It is always good to know your anticipated time of arrival but not essential as there is always someone here to welcome you.
From our gate, there are 19 concreted steps of approx. 15cm height to our entrance path with a handrail to the right hand side. The steps and path are illuminated during the hours of darkness.
We are able to assist guests with luggage if this is required.
Car parking is on the road outside the house. Guests can usually park within a few yards of the house.
Main Entrance & Reception
The front porch entrance has a series of 3 steps (av. Ht.15cm.) leading up to the front door. The front door is nearly always unlocked but we do have a bell press in the door canopy, at a height of 135 cm. The door is 76 cm wide and there is a 7.5 cm height step-over threshold on the ground. Entrance is into our Reception Hall (approx. 3m x 2 1/2m). The floor is wood laminate.
Public Areas - General (Internal)
Our Dining Room and Guest Lounge are on the ground floor, the ground floor corridor having a rug runner leading to the Dining Room. The Guest Lounge is fully carpeted and fitted out with comfortable leather sofas and chair and also has a flat-screen TV. Complete with teletext facility. There is a door from the Guest Lounge leading on to the terrace. Seating in this area is available to guests via 3 wooden steps.
The covering on the stairs and upstairs corridors is short-pile fitted carpet. There are 17 stairs leading to the first floor and the same to the second floor.
