Looe

The historic harbour town of Looe, and its close neighbour Polperro, have attracted visitors from world wide for centuries, although in those earlier days it was for devious deeds in landing contraband and “cheating the Revenue”

There has been little change in the character of the town and as with Polperro, the narrow back streets, alleyways and terraces are virtually unspoilt and unaltered, Looe shows great history and beautiful surrounding Cornish countryside.

The river dividing East and West Looe is spanned by a bridge with seven arches and the lakes at the rear of the town run into winding waterways, for some 3 miles inland, through beautiful countryside and almost undiscovered Cornwall.

Looe is fantastic for both adults and children alike as it has two very different beaches, one wide and sandy the other shingley with fascinating little rock pools perfect for exploring.
There are plenty of places to eat and drink, lots with outside seating areas over looking the local coastal town. At the Harbour which is only 10 minutes walk away, you can find fishing and boating trips, also a landing craft which takes visitors to Looe Island for a 2 hour stay to discover the Island’s Nature Reserve.
